La Rams Stadium – Sofi Stadium Construction

La Rams’ or called as Sofi Stadium is located in Los Angeles and home of two American Football clubs which are Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers.

La Rams stadium also known as SoFi Stadium was designed by HKS (American architecture company) and forms the stadium itself, including a pedestrian zone, and a concert hall. One of the original points in the design is the roof. The roof can demonstrate images that can be seen from airplanes when flying to LAX airport

The stadium has open sides and seats at 70,240 capacity for most events.The Sofi stadium capacity has the ability to expand up to 30,000 additional seats for bigger events. It also has 13,000 premium seats and 260 luxury suites. The fixed concert hall has a capacity of 6,000 seats. The stadium was designed as the stadium itself and performance hall are considered to be separate facilities under one roof.

Another important component of the stadium’s design is “the Oculus”—an ovular shaped, double-sided 4K HDR video board. It is a first-of-its-kind LED display, suspended from the roof over the field. The structure of the video board weighs 1000 tons, and displays at 80 million pixels. The Oculus also houses the stadium’s 260 high-tech speaker audio system. It also have 56 5g wireless antennas. SoFi Stadium builders call the stadium as the first indoor-outdoor stadium. The super translucent roof lets sun in, the panels have the ability to open and close, and open ends and sides let in breezes from the ocean eight kilometres away.

The stadium’s play field is made with synthetic grass which requires low maintenance and provides long-term usage. This synthetic grass is approved by the NFL and international standards. Artificial turf can be used in many sports, not only football, but also baseball, American football, cricket, field hockey, rugby, tennis, golf and multipurpose fields. The ground looks so fresh and bright with artificial grass and it has the ability to maintain its stability for a long time.

The highest seats at SoFi Stadium (La Rams stadium) are nearly 15 meters closer to the field than a casual stadium. Which gives the comfort for the spectators to watch the game or the event more closely.

Construction cost was 5 to 6 billion dollars which makes the stadium as the most expensive stadium and entertainment center in the world.

It is also called ‘The Campus’ because the stadium is more than a stadium. The reason for that is because the stadium includes a performance hall, outdoor plaza, shopping areas, clubs, etc. It also has a lake out front and a waterfall as well.

Special seats even the the highest areas. Most of the stadiums have uncomfortable seats for an entire game but La Rams stadium has chair form factors in all seats.
